Summer Field Notes – July/August 2014
With the passing of July into August, the warm days of summer spread across the northern hemisphere mirrored in the meadows, pastures, woods and waters of Calas Galadhon Park … this little group of regions marked out in a sea of squares that make up the grid of Second Life.
We are still here … thanks in no small part to the care, the interest and generosity of our friends, group members and park visitors. As ‘Calas’ passes the mid mark of its 5th year in Second Life and with it’s 6th year within view, we never fail to be surprised, touched and inspired by the kind words and support for our work here.
Below you will find the graphic providing the figures on the Park’s donation totals for July 2014.
For the second time since May, the monthly cost in LL in fees for the 11 sims of ‘Calas’ was fully covered by its members & guests! We are deeply grateful. With plans already in the works for another special Halloween and Christmas build this year, the timing could not have been better.
Truck and I hope you have taken time to explore and enjoy the changes we’ve made to the Park these past few months. There was the remodel of the Main Street area on the Calas Galadhon sim which included a new terrace and florist shop at the top of the stairs near the Calas Diner as well as the beautiful new Victorian Garden Terrace, park and new dock area. Just around the corner from the Gallery building at the end of Main Street by the bridge to Dimrill Dale, there’s now a new Cuddle Boat Tour of the southern sims with one of the newly designed boats. Two additional versions of the new boat await you at the original Cuddle Boat Tours at the main dock. The last several months have also seen a complete transformation of the Eryn Vorn & South Farthing sims … for the better we hope. They are now more horse and explorer friendly. 🙂 We both feel good about the changes made so far this year and hope you do as well.
Wishing you the very best of the summer months, in and out of Second Life! With gratitude & affection,
Ty Tenk & Truck Meredith
