CALAS GALADHON GROUP CHARTER & GUIDELINES                                         When inworld if you are a member of the Calas Galadhon Announcement Group there are a few rules we ask you to follow to maintain a friendly and comfortable atmosphere for everyone. We currently have nearly 6000 members so it’s not always possible to make everyone happy, but we hope this helps.

Here is the Group Charter and some guidelines for using our group chat.  All members are expected to understand and follow the guidelines.

GROUP CHARTER

The Calas Announcement Group was formed for the purpose of letting our members know of changes and events in the Park. Occasional brief and friendly chat is allowed as long as within the following boundaries. We do not tolerate spamming of any sort. To do so may mean ejection from the group and banishment from the Estate.

‘Spam’

No Spam means no SLURLs, web links, etc. in the group unless approved by staff. If you feel it would be of some interest to group members and involves ‘Calas’  in some way, please send us a notecard with the info so we can decide if it’s appropriate. If someone has a photo or a URL to a blog that has featured any of the Calas Galadhon Park Sims, we would also love to see and share when we can. Again, please send them to either of us in a notecard and we’ll take it from there.

Social Chat

Our group chat is intended to be focused primarily on anything that has to do with the Calas Galadhon Park Sims so questions about CALAS should take precedence over all other conversations – we want to stay on topic🙂 Our group is known for its helpfulness, fun and friendliness so some social chat is allowed – we just ask that if the conversation becomes limited to just a few people, you move on to IM so that people coming in won’t be disappointed not to hear about Calas!

Keep the following in mind when in the Calas group chat:

.             Stay on Topic

If the discussion isn’t about Calas Galadhon Park, Calas Galadhon events, or issues directly related to Calas Galadhon, our group is not the place for the discussion.

•             No Rude or Offensive Behavior – Even if you don’t think you are being rude or offensive, you could be to a lot of other people. Remember, we are a very diverse group, from a lot of different countries and backgrounds. It’s best not to say anything if you can’t say anything nice.

Although our sims are considered ‘Moderate’ as rated by ‘Linden Labs’, we ask that you use some caution, common sense and courtesy and say nothing that you would not say in front of your children or grandmother:)  In other words:

•             No cursing – The grid isn’t going down because of an occasional slip with a cuss word but profanity is just not needed in group chat, and one can be muted or ejected if a moderator deems a conversation abusive.

•             No overtly sexual or provocative conversation.

•             Please respect each other’s boundaries.

Please no name-calling, personal issues, harassment, etc. Disagreements should be settled in private IM or handled by muting the offending person. If you are being harassed, please file an Abuse Report to Linden Labs.

Defamatory and/or slanderous comments will not be tolerated, under any circumstance and will result in immediate and permanent group and estate banning.

If you see someone being abusive in chat and a moderator is not there to take action, ignore and mute the person, then notify a moderator with a notecard and let us know what happened and we’ll look into it. Engaging the person with a response only extends the conversation.

Above all treat each other with kindness and respect as we request you do in the Park.
