To our CALAS friends and group family,

First we wanted to thank you for helping make ‘A CALAS CHRISTMAS 2024’ such a success this year in Second Life. 

How often can one find at any of the winter destinations across the years, a consistent crowd skating its lakes and filling its landscape and air with its sleighs and balloons?  To see our guests immersed in exploring the magical wonders of a Christmas we imagined as a child or wandering through a snow covered countryside and quiet woods brings us joy.  Truck and I are eternally grateful for your participation and support, which has made our time in Second Life such a wonderful experience for us.

We will be keeping the Christmas regions up through Jan 4 after which we let them fade back into the mist until next year’s holiday season.

Last April we explained our reasons for having to cut back on the number of our regions in the near future and asked for your input to help guide us on which Sims to let go of in the coming year. We appreciated and took to heart all of that we received from you. 

It has been a very difficult and painful process … each of our regions are our children, each carrying with them a part of the dream we still hold close.   

We recently submitted a ticket to have EREBOR, ERIADOR AND BAY OF BEL (our ‘New Santorini’ and newest regions in the park) taken offline on Jan 10.  This will save us $500 US a month or $6000 US a year in 2025 and will greatly help us navigate the challenges that RL has placed before us this past year.

Our intent is to bring them back online in all their beauty at a future time when we are able.  Until then, we will be putting our PHOENIX venue … with some of its surrounding landscape … into a Rez box so that it can be placed as a Sky build for a future event, much like we have done for Skate O Rama and Truck’s Trailer Park. Now would be the time to enjoy the unique views, underwater gardens and serenity these regions have to offer before they return once again to the sea from which they sprang in June of 2019.

We know there have been rumors going around that we are closing ‘CALAS’.  This is not true.  Although we can’t predict what may happen in our RL in the coming year nor promise that there won’t be additional changes to the Park in 2025, we have no intention of closing the gates to our Calas Galadhon Park estate.  

As many of you know … particularly those who have been with us for many years, CALAS has always been as much a ‘Community’ as a group of sims on the world map.  Join us in looking forward. So much light, magic and inspiration lay ahead.
